It lives!

Almost a year ago, I stopped posting. Today, I've started again. It's not like any one thing has suddenly happened, or that I've done absolutely nothing in the meantime, but I finally feel like I have a goal/project in mind and something that I'm working toward that's worth writing about!

Over the past year, my family lived in a tiny apartment with barely room to eat meals, let alone have a hobby project on the go. No room to set up, no room to put away when not in use. I was able to work with my mate Brad occasionally, but I didn't get a lot done last year. First priority was to get a commission job done for the purchaser of my orcs. They were purchased on the condition that I make 20 more savage orcs for the army. I was not sure I could do even this (turns out I was right!), but within weeks of moving I was well underway again. They're two months past deadline, but the buyer wasn't too upset by this.
Excuse the poor photo

The old ones for comparison

I'll put some photos of the whole army up soon, but suffice to say I don't own them anymore. I've sent these guys off, just waiting for the buyer's confirmation. There may be more commission work in the pipes, but I'll see how I go.

Rockhammer is an event coming up in June. The only thing this event has going for it is that it is on a long weekend that we are as yet not booked for. Taking a whole weekend to play a tournament is a bit of a luxury at the moment, but if I have Monday off as well, I may be able to afford it. As such, I'm getting the Ogre Pirates out for a spin. I just put the new resin in to clean, then I can start putting things together. Exciting times!

  1. Welcome back to the land of the blogging! Bit sad that this army isn't yours any more. It was unique.

  2. I was saddened by getting rid of the list, but then I look at it more from the point of view that I can (in theory) make more armies now, which is something I'm quite fond of (rather than merely owning and playing with said armies). If I sell, I don't have to worry about storing it!
